Myths & Facts About Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tyres

Maruti Dzire is one of the highest-selling and most preferred family cars in India. As a proud owner, one always strives to keep it in best condition to ensure niggle-free performance for a long time. Most people show concern towards its mechanicals, but only a few take care of Maruti Suzuki Dzire tyres. Learn more about how you can increase the life of the Suzuki Dzire tyres, future replacement and selection of tyres.

  • Myth 1: All Maruti Suzuki Dzire variants run on similar tyre sizes.

Fact: Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in four variants, equipped with varied tyre sizes. Although the lower-spec LXI/LDI and VXI/VDI run on 165/80 R14 tyres, the more premium ZXI/ZDI and ZXI+/ZDI+ variants roll on 185/65 R15 tyres.

Myth 2: Both front and rear Maruti Suzuki Dzire tyres have the same recommended tyre pressure.

Fact: While the tyre size has to be the same on all four corners for all four variants – 14-inch in LXI/LDI and VXI/VDI and 15-inch in ZXI/ZDI and ZXI+/ZDI+ – the same cannot be said about the tyre pressure ratings. Maruti Suzuki recommends a tyre pressure of 36 PSI for the front tyres and 33 PSI for the rear tyres in all the variants of the Dzire.

Myth 3: Tyres should be replaced first at the front.

Fact: Given that the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a front-wheel-drive car, there is a misconception that the front tyres suffer from more wear and tear and need earlier replacement. However, contrary to the belief, the rear tyres should be replaced first, as they are more responsible for keeping the car stable while driving and braking on wet surfaces.

Myth 4: The tyre pressure of Dzire should be reduced during winters.

Fact: The tyres tend to lose air pressure whenever the climatic temperature drops. Instead of reducing the tyre pressure, it is better to increase the tyre pressure by 2-3 PSI to keep the life expectancy of the tyre intact.
